In new stills from tvN’s “Because This Is My First Life,” things appear to take an unhappy turn for longtime couple Shin Won Suk (Kim Min Suk) and Yang Ho Rang (Kim Ga Eun).

The drama has been praised for its realistic portrayal of Won Suk and Ho Rang’s long-term relationship, in which romantic passion slowly gives way to the burdensome feeling of duty and being tied to one another. In the latest episode, the couple’s differing opinions on love and marriage finally took their toll on the relationship. Despite the giddy proposal and happy times they’d once shared, Won Suk asked Ho Rang to break up after seven years of dating.

The stills show both lovers sitting side by side, looking solemn as they quietly contemplate their relationship.
