“I Am Not A Robot” Shares 4 Characters From The Research Team To Keep An Eye Out For

MBC’s upcoming drama “I Am Not A Robot” recently released hilarious character posters for four of its cast members.

“I Am Not A Robot” is about the blooming romance between a man who can’t date because he’s “allergic to humans” (Yoo Seung Ho) and a woman pretending to be a robot (Chae Soo Bin).

First up is Uhm Ki Joon’s character Hong Baek Kyun, the ex-boyfriend of Jo Ji Ah (Chae Soo Bin’s character) and the creator of Aji-3. He is a world-renowned engineer and professor, but is hopeless when it comes to love. He models his robot Aji-3 after Jo Ji Ah and takes care of it lovingly. In his character poster, Hong Baek Kyun can be seen peering carefully at a robot.

Next up is Pi, played by Park Se Wan. The character poster reveals that she is a 30-year-old famous researcher in both Korea and abroad who studies fusion. Her nickname, Pi, was given to her as she has a habit of reciting all the digits of Pi to empty her thoughts. It was also revealed that the character almost never portrays emotion outwardly and that she always wears the same facial expression.

The next poster reveals Song Jae Ryong’s character, nicknamed Hok Tal. He gets his nickname as he resembles the main character from “Planet of the Apes” (Hok Tal is a shortened version of ‘Planet of the Apes’ in Korean). Gifted with a brilliant mind, he is a researcher that is in charge of engines and hardware. Because he has never dated before, he treats Aji-3 like a princess and is very attached to it.

Finally, the youngest of the team is Ssan Ip, played by Kim Min Kyu. His research focus is in software, specifically sensors. Although he usually looks like a zombie, he has an unwavering ability to focus on his work. He shoots down a lot of Hok Tal’s attempts at humor, and got the nickname Ssan Ip as he is unable to keep secrets. (Ssan Ip literally translates to “cheap mouth.”)

“I Am Not A Robot” is directed by Jung Dae Yoon, who also produced hits such as “She Was Pretty” and “W,” while the script was written by Kim Sun Mi, who also wrote “Shine or Go Crazy” and Lee Suk Joon.

It will air its first episode on December 6.
