Jung Hae In Talks About “Prison Playbook” And Being Called A Kim Soo Hyun Lookalike
Actor Jung Hae In recently sat down to talk about being cast in the drama “Prison Playbook.”
The upcoming tvN drama, which will air its first episode on November 22, is produced by famous producer Shin Won Ho, best known for the hit “Reply” series. Jung Hae In, who was most recently seen in “While You Were Sleeping,” revealed that he was especially excited to be a part of “Prison Playbook” because he had auditioned for all of the “Reply” dramas.
“I never dreamed that I would pass my ‘Prison Playbook’ audition,” shared the actor. “Because I know that there were so many people who wanted to be in it, and so many people had auditions and meetings [for the drama], I’m truly happy and grateful that I was able to join the cast. In return, I worked hard to show my best self in the drama. With the first episode coming up, I hope people are looking forward to it.”
Jung Hae In, who made a brief cameo appearance in “Reply 1988,” also responded to netizens’ comments calling him handsome. “I’m grateful for compliments on my looks, but I also find them a bit burdensome,” he remarked. “To be honest, I’d much rather be praised for my acting than for my appearance.”
He also admitted to reading online comments about himself, saying, “I’m the type to check the comments on my articles, and when I see positive responses, I find myself smiling. Especially when I see comments that say someone has been my fan from the beginning and has even watched my earlier dramas that didn’t so well [in terms of ratings]—I’m most thankful for those comments, and I find them the most memorable.”
A reporter pointed out that actor Kim Soo Hyun was amongst his related search terms and asked if he thought it was because the two physically resembled each other. Jung Hae In responded with embarrassment, saying, “I wouldn’t dare.”
“Prison Playbook” is already attracting attention for its star-studded cast, which also includes Park Hae Soo, Jung Kyung Ho, f(x)’s Krystal Jung, and WINNER’s Kang Seung Yoon. The show will premiere on November 22 at 9:10 p.m. KST.
