
EXO's Lay And GOT7's Jackson Take Home Awards At 2017 Tencent Video Star Awards
EXO member Lay and GOT7 member Jackson received awards at the 2017 Tencent Video Star Awards that was held at the Beijing Institute of Technology Gymnasium on December 3.
The Tencent Video Star Awards is held by Tencent, one of China’s largest media companies, and awards the most popular stars in film, drama, music, and variety show of that year.
Lay received the Album of the Year award for his second solo album “LAY 02 SHEEP,” which was released in October and featured title track “Sheep.”
In his award acceptance speech, Lay said, “Thank you to Tencent Video Star Awards for giving me this award and thank you to CEPH for publishing this album. Thank you to all of the staff at Zhang Yixing studio and [my fans], Xbacks and Xingmis. To my members who are far away, I really miss you too and thank you. Thank you to everyone who helped me and loved me.”
Jackson was awarded Breakthrough Singer of the Year for his solo debut single “Papillon,” which was released in August. He thanked his fans and expressed that he was honored to be recognized for his music during his acceptance speech. After receiving this award, Jackson performed his newest solo track “Okay” at the ceremony.
