MBC Confirmed To Hold Drama And Entertainment Awards This Year With Some Changes
After discussing the possibility of not having any drama and entertainment awards ceremonies this year, MBC has officially decided to hold them!
On December 8, MBC announced that they will not be canceling the 2017 drama and entertainment awards. The 2017 MBC Entertainment Awards will air on December 29, giving people a sneak peek at the variety shows prepared for next year.
The 2017 MBC Drama Awards will air on December 30 with some changes to the way the Grand Prize (daesang) will be selected. The award for Grand Prize was previously 100 percent decided by viewers’ votes, but this year, it will be based on votes from experts like drama critics and MBC producing directors (PDs). The awards for Popularity and Drama of the Year, however, will still be chosen through votes on MBC’s official website.
With the 2017 MBC Gayo Daejejun confirmed as well, viewers will now get to see all three year-end shows on MBC!
