MXM Talks About Support They've Received From Wanna One's Park Woo Jin And Lee Dae Hwi

Lim Young Min and Kim Dong Hyun of the duo MXM made their first comeback on January 10 with the new mini album “Match Up.”

The pair of young idols from Brand New Music first gained a large fan following when they competed on “Produce 101 Season 2” along with their labelmates Lee Dae Hwi and Park Woo Jin, who are currently promoting with the finalist group Wanna One.

They made their debut as a project unit in July of last year, along with many other “Produce 101 Season 2” contestants who debuted in 2017. Some of these artists will also be making comebacks soon, including JBJ releasing a new mini album on January 17, RAINZ returning on January 23, Jeong Sewoon making a comeback on January 24, and more.

On the evening of January 10, MXM held a comeback showcase to celebrate the release of their new mini album and their title track “Diamond Girl.”

During the show, they were asked about the upcoming series of comebacks by “Produce 101 Season 2” trainees. Kim Dong Hyun replied, “I’ve heard that there are a lot of friends from ‘Produce 101 Season 2’ making comebacks, starting with us. When I see them while working, I feel like it gives me strength and encouragement. I hope that everyone does well.”

Lim Young Min added, “I felt a lot of comradeship with them while we were on the survival show together, and so at first I didn’t feel like there was any competition between us. But after promoting ‘Unmix,’ I want to do better so that we can achieve a better position and results together with them.”

When asked about whether they’ve been in touch with their fellow Brand New Music trainees Park Woo Jin and Lee Dae Hwi, Lim Young Min commented that when they first debuted, they hadn’t been able to be in contact with them. “It was a shame that we couldn’t receive feedback from them then,” he said.

“But recently we’ve been able to contact them a lot,” he said. “Whenever Woo Jin contacts me he says, ‘Let’s do well, let’s work hard.’ It gives me strength. I talked about music with Dae Hwi and he said he thinks our song ‘Diamond Girl’ is exciting.”
