Gaon Chart Announces They Will No Longer Display Number Of Streams And Downloads In 2018

Gaon Chart has revealed some new changes to its website.

On January 10, Gaon Chart stated through an official announcement, “The Gaon index of the digital chart will be displayed on the website, but the numbers on the download chart and streaming chart will not be shown.”

Up until 2017, the number of downloads and streams for songs on the Gaon Digital Chart were visible to the public. According to the notice, however, this change was made due to the “misuse of displayed counts on the website other than its original purpose.”

This change will take effect starting with the weekly chart for the first week of January 2018. The rankings, produced as the result of calculations by Gaon, will now be available through the Gaon index.
