TWICE Stays Strong With "Heart Shaker"; Soompi's K-Pop Music Chart 2018, January Week 2
TWICE’s “Heart Shaker” remains No. 1, continuing its winning streak! This song won again on “Inkigayo” last week. Although the gap between “Heart Shaker” and its nearest challengers are a lot closer, the song managed to win again this week thanks to its overall strength on all chart sources. Congratulations again to TWICE!
EXO’s “Universe” moves up 10 spots to No. 2 this week, nearly knocking off “Heart Shaker” at the top. In fact, this song won on both “Music Bank” and “Music Core” last week. “Universe” is the title song of EXO’s 2017 Winter Special Album. It is a fusion ballad with a piano melody and an electric guitar sound. The lyrics are about a man who is determined to follow his love anywhere around the universe.
Rounding out the top three is EXO’s labelmate Red Velvet. Their former No. 1 song “Peek-A-Boo” remains at No. 3.
We have one other new song in the top 10 this week. Moving up 19 spots to No. 10 is Jang Deok Cheol’s “Good Old Days.” This latest hit song comes from a male trio group whose name is made up of one letter from each member’s name. “Good Old Days” was released on November 27 last year. The MV slowly gained interest on social media and climbed up various music charts, finally breaking into the top 10 this week. “Good Old Days” is a sad ballad song that everyone who has memorable old memories can sympathize with.
