Woo Do Hwan, Joy, Moon Ga Young, And Kim Min Jae Give It Their All During Script Read For Their New Drama
MBC’s upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama “The Great Seducer” (working title) recently held its first script reading session.
Based on the French novel “Dangerous Liaisons,” the drama explores the romance between a young man and woman who jump headfirst into a dangerous game of love, not knowing that they may be risking their entire lives.
The script reading took place on January 16, with many key staff and cast members present, such as Woo Do Hwan, Red Velvet’s Joy, Moon Ga Young, Kim Min Jae, chief producer Son Hyung Suk, producing directors Kang In and Lee Dong Hyun, and scriptwriter Kim Bo Yeon.
Over the course of four hours, Woo Do Hwan, as Kwon Shi Hyun “the seducer,” and Joy, as Eun Tae Hee “the seduced,” went back and forth reading their lines, and demonstrated the potential of their heart-fluttering chemistry. Like the rising stars they are, Moon Ga Young and Kim Min Jae were passionate and energetic while acting as “the world’s prettiest celebrity” Choi Soo Ji and “charming beagle” Lee Se Joo respectively.
In addition to these four main cast members, actors Shin Sung Woo, Jun Mi Sun, and Kim Seo Hyung also portrayed their own complicated love triangle as parents of Woo Do Hwan’s, Joy’s, and Moon Ga Young’s characters.
Producing director Kang In commented, “I didn’t slept well last night. There are a lot of parts that are lacking, but I think that it will be rewarding if we are able to help each other and present a perfected production to the viewers. I hope that you all will be able to become ‘seducers,’ just like our title.” Scriptwriter Kim Bo Yeon added, “I’m happy to be working with actors I like and respect. I will work hard while writing.”
“Dangerous Liaisons” will premiere on March 12 at 10 p.m. KST.
