"Hyori's Homestay 2" Sets New Record For Highest Ratings For 1st Episode Of JTBC Variety Show
JTBC’s “Hyori’s Homestay 2” is definitely off to a great start!
According to statistics released by Nielsen Korea on February 5, the first episode of “Hyori’s Homestay 2” scored nationwide viewership ratings of 8.02 percent. The second season has begun 2.17 percent higher than the ratings of the first season’s first episode. This means that the show has now set a new record for the highest ratings for a JTBC variety show’s first episode.
Producing directors (PD) Jung Hyo Min and Ma Gun Young stated, “We’re so happy and it’s all thanks to Lee Hyori, Lee Sang Soon, and YoonA. We’re grateful for the interest the viewers have shown for our show, and we are blown away by the ratings.” They went on to thank the staff, screenwriters, and younger PDs for all of the work they do behind the scenes to make the show run smoothly.
When asked if they feel pressured by the great start, the two PDs replied, “We do, but the high ratings mean that people are very interested in our show, so our goal is to just maintain their interest and raise the ratings. The high ratings are giving us more energy to put into our show.”
“Hyori’s Homestay 2” airs every Sunday on JTBC at 9 p.m. KST.
