Along With the Gods: The Two Worlds” has made history once again!

On February 8 at 6 p.m. KST, the film reached 14,259,394 in moviegoers according to the Korean Film Council, surpassing the total viewership of 14,257,115 for “Ode to My Father.” This makes “Along With the Gods: The Two Worlds” the second biggest box office hit in Korean film history right behind 2014 film “The Admiral: Roaring Currents,” the number one Korean box office hit with a viewership of 17,615,152.

Since its premiere on December 20, the film has seen immense success, gaining 4 million viewers in just six days. It reached the 10 million mark on January 4, and previously surpassed “Veteran” to become the third biggest Korean box office hit on January 22.

Based on a popular webtoon, “Along With the Gods: The Two Worlds” is the first installment of a two-part series. It explores the tale of a man who goes through a series of trials over the course of 49 days as he is guided by three grim reapers.

The second installment is set to be released in the summer of 2018, and a drama adaptation of the original webtoon is also in the works.
