Red Velvet Makes Debut On Billboard's Canadian Hot 100 Chart With

Red Velvet has entered Billboard’s Canadian Hot 100 chart for the first time!

Billboard has now released its charts for the week ending in February 17, and Red Velvet’s new track “Bad Boy” off their album “The Perfect Red Velvet” has entered the Canadian Hot 100 chart at No. 87. This is the first time that one of the girl group’s songs has ranked on the chart.

The Canadian Hot 100 chart ranks the most popular songs in Canada from all genres each week, and is calculated through a combination of data from radio airplay, sales, and streaming activity.

It is very rare for a song by a K-pop artist to make it on to the chart, and Red Velvet is now the second K-pop girl group to achieve the feat, following BLACKPINK. Other Korean artists with songs that have entered the Canadian Hot 100 chart include BTS, PSY, BIGBANG, and EXO, and CL has also made an appearance on the chart when she featured in PSY’s song “Daddy.”

Elsewhere on Billboard this week, Red Velvet’s “The Perfect Red Velvet” is at No. 5 on the World Albums chart (after coming in at No. 3 last week), and “Bad Boy” is No. 2 on the World Digital Song Sales chart.

Congratulations to Red Velvet!
