Lee Da Hae Discusses The Challenge Of Taking On Two Roles For "Nice Witch"

Lee Da Hae talked about her characters for her upcoming SBS weekend drama “Nice Witch.”

Through “Nice Witch,” Lee Da Hae will be taking on dual roles for the first time in her career. Lee Da Hae will be playing Cha Do Hee, a kindhearted and lovable housewife. She will also be playing her twin sister, Cha Sun Hee, who is a coldhearted ‘witch’ stewardess. Lee Da Hae will be showing off her impressive acting as she portrays the two characters, who are dramatically different.

SBS released images of Lee Da Hae immersed in her dual roles. One image shows her smiling in a school uniform with glasses. The actress then gives off a completely different aura in another image as she dons a stylish outfit with a cold expression on her face.

The first day of filming for “Nice Witch” was on January 7 at Bucheon University. It was revealed that the scene filmed that day was the fateful moment the twin sisters decide their separate futures. Lee Da Hae was said to have effortlessly switched between acting as Cha Do Hee and Cha Sun Hee, perfectly pulling off the scene of conflict between the two sisters.

“Nice Witch” marks Lee Da Hae’s first drama in four years since MBC’s “Hotel King” in 2014. On why she chose “Nice Witch” for her comeback, Lee Da Hae explained, “From the interesting title to the script that was easy to read and the energy from the strong characters of Sun Hee and Do Hee, all aspects of the drama felt fresh and gave me certainty from the moment I first encountered the production. It’s my first drama comeback in Korea in a while, and since I’ll be taking on dual roles for the first time, I think it’ll become an even more meaningful project.”

Lee Da Hae continued, “I think I’ll be able to show various sides through ‘Nice Witch,’ so I’m already excited and am really looking forward to it. It’s not an easy role, but I’m having so much fun acting, and I hope I can deliver as much empathy and fun through this production and characters.”

Additionally, the staff of “Nice Witch” remarked, “The bright and lovely Sun Hee and chic and charismatic Do Hee are characters that fit actress Lee Da Hae like clothes made just for her. Since she is taking on roles that fit her perfectly, we are confident she will receive a lot of love and support from the viewers.”

“Nice Witch” will premiere on March 3 at 8:55 p.m. KST, and will be available on Viki!
