"Hyori's Homestay 2" PD Talks About Respecting YoonA's Privacy On The Show

On February 19, two of the producing directors of “Hyori’s Homestay 2,” Jung Hyo Min and Ma Gun Young, had an interview with TVReport about the show.

In the most recent episode of “Hyori’s Homestay 2,” YoonA teared up while listening to a song recommendation from Lee Hyori. When Lee Hyori saw her tears, she comforted her by saying, “Singers can often get emotional while listening to songs” and gave her some time alone outside to recover.

When asked about this scene by the reporters, the PDs said, “I think a lot of people could actually relate to Lee Hyori not asking YoonA why she was crying. There are a lot of things that people could be feeling, and someone’s private issues are something that only they would know, so we thought that as a show we didn’t need to probe deeper into that. Lee Hyori and YoonA had only met for three days. Lee Hyori was being careful to respect YoonA’s privacy.”

The PDs continued, “Like Lee Hyori said, YoonA was probably thinking of various things because she has the tendency as a singer to feel very deeply. We think viewers were able to empathize with her more because we didn’t know the reason for her tears.”
