NU’EST W Talks About The Past, Future, And What Kind Of Music They Want To Make
In a recent pictorial and interview for @star1 Magazine, NU’EST W talked about their past and their future as a group.
The idols mentioned that JR had recently returned from filming SBS’s “Law of the Jungle” in Patagonia, revealing that it was the first time that he had been separated from the other NU’EST members for such a long period of time.
“JR typically plays a lot of computer games, so when we didn’t hear the sound of his keyboard, we realized, ‘He’s really gone,'” the other members recalled with a laugh.
NU’EST W also talked about their upcoming solo concert in March. They remarked, “A lot of our fans were curious to know whether there’d be solo performances, saying, ‘It seems like they’ll be staging solo performances, but will they really?’ The answer is ‘Yes, we’re really going to be staging solo performances.'”
They confidently went on, “We will show you great performances that are tailored to each of the members’ individual charms.”
When asked about their unique style of music, the NU’EST members described the group’s musical color as resembling “fog.” They explained, “Fog is something that you can’t see clearly until it has lifted. I feel like that’s our own unique [musical] color. Fog with a sprinkling of trendiness.”
Baekho, who composed “Where You At“—the song that earned NU’EST W its first-ever music show win—said that he hoped to explore a variety of musical genres in the future. “I hope that our music always remains trendy,” he shared, “and I hope that we don’t limit ourselves to any one genre.”
As NU’EST approaches its sixth anniversary since debut, the members spoke fondly of their past. “It feels like those years were the fertilizer that you apply before flowers bloom,” they remarked. “We were able to feel that our choices hadn’t been a waste.”
They added, “We are truly grateful that we’ve been given the opportunity to start anew.”
