“Olympics_EXO” Trends Worldwide Before And During 2018 PyeongChang Olympics Closing Ceremony

As the clock ticked down to the beginning of the end of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics, fans couldn’t hold back their excitement for EXO’s performance during the closing ceremony!

The closing ceremony is currently taking place after starting at 8 p.m. KST on February 25, and will feature CL and EXO as performers. Before its start, at around 6:30 p.m. KST, the hashtag “Olympics_EXO” began trending at number one worldwide on Twitter, and has continued to maintain its position (at the time this article was published).

Not only is EXO trending worldwide, but many of their past title tracks and b-side tracks from 2013-2017 rose on or reentered the top 100 on Melon’s realtime chart just a little after midnight KST on February 25. At 6 a.m. KST, four of EXO’s songs were ranked second to fifth, and 12 other songs were ranked seventh to 18th on Melon’s realtime chart.

Ahead of the closing ceremony, the official Olympics Twitter account also announced that EXO would be tweeting through its account. The EXO members expressed their thoughts on various aspects of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics.
