Lee Joon Gi Shares His Criteria For Picking Projects And How He Relaxes Outside Of Work

Actor Lee Joon Gi recently shot a pictorial for the March issue of The Star. The shoot took place in Okinawa, Japan.

In the accompanying interview, Lee Joon Gi talked about how he recharged his mental and physical batteries. “I think it’s important to recharge your energy,” he said. “Recently I’ve gotten into jujutsu [Japanese martial art] and it’s awakened me to myself, taught me humility, and expanded something inside of me. I get lonely easily, but this helps a lot in overcoming that. I feel like I’ve discovered a new world and I do jujutsu every day.”

The actor was recently cast in the upcoming tvN drama “Lawless Lawyer.” When asked about the project, he said, “I will try my hardest to bring out my best talents for the lead role.”

Lee Joon Gi then shared how he picks his projects. “First of all, it has to be fun and it has to be able to give emotion or happiness to the viewers,” he said. “If you think only of the big things, you can make a lot of mistakes, but this isn’t just for me, it’s something a lot of actors and production staff think of. Rather than starting to think, ‘This is someone’s fault,’ I think that I have to challenge a lot of things myself.”

He added, “I’m grateful to everyone for giving me opportunities to be the lead in productions I choose. I just want to express that, but people are too kind and it embarrasses me. The set is like a playground for me. I always want to make precious memories with the people I’m with.”

The actor concluded, “When spring comes, I get excited. I want to make the public happy as Lee Joon Gi the actor, whose job it is to bring happiness to others.”
