The cast of “Little Forest” celebrated the film’s success at the box office!

As of March 10, 6 p.m. KST, “Little Forest” surpassed 1,000,251 moviegoers. This means the film reached 1 million moviegoers 11 days after its premiere on February 28.

Unlike other high-budget films currently at the box office, “Little Forest” is a low-budget film with a production cost of 1.5 billion won (approximately $1.4 million). However, it drew in moviegoers with its story and gained popularity through word-of-mouth recommendations.

The acting of Kim Tae Ri, Ryu Jun Yeol, and Jin Ki Joo, the directing of Lim Soon Rye, and the beauty of the four seasons and food depicted in the film greatly appealed to moviegoers. Along with this, it is a film that anyone can empathize with and feel comforted by.

To celebrate its newest feat, the cast of the film posted photos to thank the viewers. Jin Ki Joo, Kim Tae Ri, and Ryu Jun Yeol held up a rice cake identical to the one Hye Won made in the film. The cast and director also made 100 with their hands to signify the 1 million moviegoers.

“Little Forest” is the film adaption of the Japanese manga of the same name. The film tells the story of Hye Won (played by Kim Tae Ri), who spends time with her childhood friends Jae Ha (played by Ryu Jun Yeol) and Eun Sook (played by Jin Ki Joo) at her home in the countryside after growing tired of the city life.

Congratulations to the cast and crew of “Little Forest”!
