Foundation For ALS Patients Reveals How Much Girls' Generation's Seohyun Has Donated Over The Years

Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun, who has recently been in the news for performing at the concert in North Korea, was belatedly revealed to have donated to a worthy cause.

On April 3, the Seungil Hope Foundation posted on their official blog, “Seohyun, with whom we have a close working relationship, has shown a lot of support for Lou Gehrig patients over the years. She has appeared as the foundation’s co-representative, visited with Park Seung Il, the head of the foundation, and has even performed at the foundation’s ‘Lou Gehrig Hope Concert.'”

The post continued, “Not only did she give her time and effort with a great performance, but she has supported us financially for a long time! A few days ago she donated another 10 million won, meaning that she has now donated a total of 40 million (about $37,600) to the fund to build a hospital for Lou Gehrig patients.”

The post concluded, “We have been asked not to reveal that she has been donating, but we wanted to share some of her good works with the world.”

Both Seohyun and fellow Girls’ Generation member Sooyoung have been known to support the Seungil Hope Foundation and are close with the head, Park Seung Il, who suffers from Lou Gehrig’s. The non-profit organization raises money for patients of Lou Gehrig’s disease, also known as ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis).
