MXM, Jeong Sewoon, And Lee Gwang Hyun Talk About "YDPP" Collaboration Project
Recently former “Produce 101 Season 2” contestants MXM (Lim Young Min and Kim Dong Hyun), Jeong Sewoon, and Lee Gwang Hyun got together to form the project group YDPP.
The four boys held a V Live broadcast on April 5 ahead of the release of their official single “Love It Live It.” About the song, Jeong Sewoon said, “You can’t listen to it without dancing” and Im Young Min said, “It’s fun to hum along to, and the song has a power to it. I think it will bring a sense of excitement to the listener.”
About the group YDPP, Lim Young Min said, “We don’t have a leader.” Jeong Sewoon added, “Our fans are the leader,” and Lim Young Min said, “This is something that we’re doing among ourselves and we’re just enjoying it and helping each other grow, so there is no leader. But we will work to be a team that continues to mature.”
The group then talked about their recording process. Jeong Sewoon said, “When Young Min went to record, he kept asking if his part was all right. Even though he was the main vocalist, he kept asking how it was. It was cute.” Lim Young Min added, “Because I was the main vocalist, I felt that it was important for me to lead well.”
Unlike MXM and Jeong Sewoon, who have previously debuted as a duo and solo artist respectively, YDPP marked Lee Gwang Hyun’s official debut. “I was so nervous when filming the album jacket photos,” he said. “My hands started sweating. They’re still sweating now.” Im Young Min complimented him, saying he did well.
YDPP concluded with a promise to their fans, saying, “It’s very meaningful that the four of us are together again. It’s because the fans cheered us on. We will work hard to repay the love that our fans have given us.” Lee Gwang Hyun added, “Thank you to the people who waited for me [to debut]. I am grateful for your love and support and promise to work hard.”
