BigHit Says Stevie Wonder Personally Asked BTS To Join Memorial Project For Martin Luther King Jr.

According to BigHit Entertainment, legendary musician Stevie Wonder personally requested that BTS participate in his recent memorial project honoring the late Martin Luther King Jr.

On April 4, Stevie Wonder posted a special tribute video entitled “Dream Still Lives” on YouTube in honor of the American civil rights movement leader on the 50th anniversary of his assassination. The video featured BTS, along with many other famous celebrities and political figures, speaking about their hopes and dreams for the future.

The next day, BigHit Entertainment stated that Stevie Wonder had personally invited BTS, the only Asian group to participate in the video, to join the project.

An agency representative told media outlet Newsen, “Stevie Wonder himself personally sent a request to BTS that they participate, and because BTS agreed with the meaning behind the project, they ended up participating.”

In addition to BTS, the memorial project’s impressive line-up included former U.S. President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama, Mariah Carey, Naomi Campbell, former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Katy Perry, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlie Puth, Tiger Woods, Whoopi Goldberg, Harry Styles, Jamie Foxx, Paul McCartney, Meryl Streep, and more.
