Watch: UNB Debuts On "Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook" And Covers Lee Seung Gi, Hwang Chi Yeol, And Jung Seung Hwan
UNB, the project group comprised of the male winners of KBS’s idol rebooting project “The Unit,” has officially debuted!
On April 7, UNB kicked off promotions for their debut mini album “Boyhood” by performing their title tracks “Sense” and “Only One” for the very first time on the KBS program “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook.” “Sense” highlighted the nine UNB members’ dance skills and powerful stage presence, while “Only One” showcased the group’s sentimental, expressive side.
In addition to performing their debut tracks, several of the UNB members covered songs by artists that they considered role models. Jun sang a snippet of “The Unit” mentor Hwang Chi Yeol’s hit ballad “A Daily Song,” explaining that he had been inspired by a video of the singer crying while performing the song at a concert.
Daewon went on to cover Lee Seung Gi‘s “Return,” while Chan sang Jung Seung Hwan’s “If It Is You.” Since MC Yoo Hee Yeol is the founder and CEO of Jung Seung Hwan’s agency Antenna Music, Chan jokingly commented that he hoped to be able to collaborate with Jung Seung Hwan in the future if he managed to impress Yoo Hee Yeol with his cover.
