Trainees From JYP, SM, And YG To Reportedly Not Participate In

Reportedly no trainees from the “Big 3” agencies will be joining “Produce 48.”

According to industry representatives on April 11, JYP Entertainment, SM Entertainment, and YG Entertainment have decided to not send any trainees to the new program.

Many were especially curious about the participation of a JYP Entertainment trainee, as Jeon Somi placed first on “Produce 101,” and Shin Ryu Jin took first of the female contestants on “MIXNINE.”

YG Entertainment and SM Entertainment have tended to forgo trainee survival programs. YG, however, did send trainees to their program “MIXNINE,” held within-company survival programs, and took trainees from “K-pop Star.” SM has not participated in survival programs and also did not take any trainees from “K-pop Star.”

The first “Produce 48” recording began on April 11, and the program is set to premiere in June. Check out the first teaser here!
