After heading to the South Pole, SBS’s “Law of the Jungle” recorded its highest viewership ratings of the year!

On the latest episode of the reality program, the cast traveled to the South Pole, officially making “Law of the Jungle” the first Korean variety show ever to film there. Due to limitations on group size, only actress Jeon Hye Bin and actor Kim Young Kwang accompanied clan leader Kim Byung Man to Antarctica.

According to Nielsen Korea, the first episode of the trio’s South Pole expedition, which aired on April 13, scored average viewership ratings of 12.2 percent during its first half and 15.7 during its second. Not only did the show’s ratings increase significantly since last week, when it aired the final episode of its trip to Patagonia, but the episode also marked the show’s highest ratings yet in 2018.

The highest-rated minute of the broadcast, which scored a peak rating of 17.6 percent, was the moment when Jeon Hye Bin used solar heat to cook porridge. The extreme heat bored a hole in the actress’s clothing and also burned her hands, but due to her unwavering resolve, Jeon Hye Bin ultimately succeeded in preparing the meal using only the heat of the sun.

“Law of the Jungle” airs on Fridays at 10 p.m. KST. Check out the latest episode of the show below!
