Yoo Jae Suk Applauded For His Continued Support For Comfort Women Through Annual Donations

It was recently revealed that entertainer Yoo Jae Suk made another donation to House of Sharing, an organization dedicated to helping comfort women.

On April 14, House of Sharing stated they had been updating their account books when they belatedly found that Yoo Jae Suk had secretly donated 50 million won (approximately $46,700) on April 11. He had sent the donation to their fund to build an international peace and human rights center, which will be dedicated to educating people on the history of comfort women and the human rights violations they faced, as well as restoring the reputation of the women who were affected.

FNC Entertainment confirmed that Yoo Jae Suk had made the donation recently. Many are applauding his continued support for the organization, as he has made a donation every year since 2014. In total, Yoo Jae Suk has given 260 million won (approximately $242,900) to House of Sharing.

Lee Ok Seon, a 91-year-old woman who is one of the eight comfort women being assisted by House of Sharing thanked Yoo Jae Suk as she said, “I’m grateful that he is assisting us with such a large sum of money, and this good news comes at a moment when we needed a boost in our morale, so thank you.”
