MBK Entertainment Recruits PDs From "Show Me The Money," "Sixteen," And More

MBK Entertainment has signed on seven producing directors (PDs)!

On April 17, MBK Entertainment revealed that CEO Kim Kwang Soo recruited several notable variety producing directors who all worked on survival shows.

One of them is PD Lee Sun Young, who worked on “Sixteen,” seasons one to three of “Fists are Crying” (literal translation), and seasons one to three of “Show Me The Money.” They also recruited PD Kim Byung Il, who worked on “Audition of Miracles” (literal translation), “Who Is Next: WIN,” and “Rebound.”

CEO Kim Kwang Soo himself produced several dramas including “Sad Love Story,” “East of Eden,” and “Gye Baek,” as well as films such as “Death Bell” and “More Than Blue.” He even participated in the production of the musical “Tears of Heaven.”

The head of the agency has produced many Korean artists such as Kim Jong Chan, Kim Min Woo, Yoon Sang, Jo Sung Mo, SG Wannabe, SeeYa, Davichi, T-ara, and more. It appears that MBK Entertainment is looking to expand their content production beyond music and will most likely venture into variety show production.
