“2 Days & 1 Night” PD Comments On Season 1 Of MBC’s “Infinite Challenge” Coming To An End
Yoo Il Yong, the current producing director (PD) of “2 Days & 1 Night” recently gave an interview where he discussed MBC’s “Infinite Challenge.”
KBS2’s “2 Days & 1 Night” and MBC’s “Infinite Challenge” have been two of Korea’s representative weekend variety shows for a long time. “Infinite Challenge” recently ended its first season after a 13-year run, and is currently on an indefinite hiatus.
Yoo Il Yong PD started off by saying, “I’m sure ‘Infinite Challenge’ will return.” He continued on to remark, “‘Infinite Challenge’ was a program I learned a lot from. It was a program with a lot of episodes. I wish the program returns soon, so I can continue to learn from it. Of course there are a lot of good shows these days, but ‘Infinite Challenge’ was truly special.”
Yoo Il Yong PD was then asked if he could lead a program for 13 years like Kim Tae Ho PD, to which he laughed and waved his hands. He explained, “Even I don’t think I can do ‘2 Days & 1 Night’ forever. Just like how I received the baton from Yoo Ho Jin PD, I’d like to naturally hand off the program to the next PD when the time is right. I hope ‘2 Days & 1 Night’ continues on like that.”
