Head Of MBK Entertainment To Produce New Idol Hip Hop Survival Show With PDs Of "Show Me The Money" And "Superstar K"

A new hip hop idol survival program is currently in the works.

On April 23, a source from MBK Entertainment made an official announcement that the agency is producing a hip hop idol survival program. This comes after a previous report that the agency’s CEO Kim Kwang Soo recruited several producing directors (PD) and signed them to his agency.

Two PDs will team up with the CEO to create this new hip hop idol survival program. PD Lee Sun Young is known as a star PD for directing and producing multiple music variety shows. He directed Mnet’s “Show Me The Money” that introduced many hip hop artists to the public, as well as  “Sixteen,” which resulted in the creation of girl group TWICE.

He worked for a long time with PD Kim Byung Il who is an expert in audition programs. His works include Mnet’s “Superstar K,” “Who is Next: WIN,” and “Audition of Miracles” (literal title).

MBK’s Kim Kwang Soo has produced many artists including Jo Sung Mo, SG Wannabe, SeeYa, Davichi, and T-ara. He also branched out to produce films and musicals, as well as dramas such as “Sad Love Story” and “East of Eden.”
