"My Ahjussi" Not Airing New Episodes This Week To Give Staff A Break

tvN’s drama “My Ahjussi” will not be airing new episodes this week.

According to tvN’s schedule, “My Ahjussi” will be airing a special episode during its usual broadcast time of 9:30 p.m. KST on May 2. The special episode is in place of its normally scheduled broadcast.

Regarding this matter, tvN confirmed, “The 13th and 14th episodes of ‘My Ahjussi,’ which were scheduled to air on May 2 and 3, will be delayed. Even though we started filming early as a half pre-produced drama, filming was inevitably delayed due to replacement of actors prior to broadcast. Additionally, there are a lot of night scenes in the drama, which place restrictions on the filming time.”

The source continued, “More than anything, ‘My Ahjussi’ requires deep emotional acting, and the actors and production team give it their all during filming, so the staff is very fatigued. The decision to take a break was made after a long discussion by the production team. We are very sorry to be unable to keep our promise to the viewers. In order to end as a drama that meets the expectations of our viewers, we will try our best in the remaining time, and work hard until the very end.”

“My Ahjussi” is centered on three middle-aged brothers and a woman who have to face the harsh realities of life. It tells their story as they get to know each other and help heal each other’s wounds. Lee Sung Gyun plays Park Dong Hoon, the second oldest out of the three brothers, while IU plays the cold and tough Lee Ji An.

“My Ahjussi” will return to its normal schedule on May 9 with the airing of episode 13.
