Actor Lee Hee Joon Opens Up About His Battle With Panic Disorder

On the May 1, actor Lee Hee Joon appeared as the guest on MBC FM4U radio show “FM Movie Music Jung Eun Chae.”

During his conversation with DJ Jung Eun Chae, Lee Hee Joon revealed that he had been suffering from panic disorder. “I had been working actively in dramas and such when I suddenly got panic disorder about four years ago,” he said. “I struggled to overcome it, but it only got harder.”

He continued, “At first, it was difficult to even admit that I was battling panic disorder. However. I began to get better as I accepted it, and I am now in much better shape.”

Lee Hee Joon then introduced his short film “Mad Rush,” which he both acted in and directed. According to the actor, the movie is based on his experiences over the past few years as he went through panic disorder.

He also shared that “Mad Rush” was selected as one of the finalists for the short film category at Jeonju International Film Festival, jokingly adding that his personal experience must have paid off.

Meanwhile, Lee Hee Joon is currently starring in OCN’s mystery thriller “Mistress,” a remake of BBC’s show of the same title.
