Suho And Ha Yeon Soo’s Chemistry Shines And Brings In Decent Premiere Ratings For “Rich Man, Poor Woman”
MBN’s “Rich Man, Poor Woman” is off to a smooth start!
A remake of a Japanese drama of the same name, the drama is about the romance between genius CEO of Next In Lee Yoo Chan, who suffers from prosopagnosia, or face blindness, and the enthusiastic go-getter Kim Bo Ra, who has an impressive memory.
According to Nielsen Korea, the drama brought in ratings of 1.516 percent nationwide in paid households during its premiere on May 9. A decently average start for a cable channel drama, the premiere showcased Lee Yoo Chan and Kim Bo Ra’s distinct personalities, successfully portrayed by EXO’s Suho and Ha Yeon Soo.
As a flourishing businessman in his 20s who raised his company up from the ground, Lee Yoo Chan demonstrated how unfeeling he could be when he dismissed employees who are lacking without a second thought. Kim Bo Ra was relatable to many as she faced the bitter reality of being unemployed despite her skills and passion.
A highlight of the premiere was when these two characters met as dogmatic CEO and aspiring employee and butt heads. The two actors earned praise from viewers, and further raised expectations for how their chemistry will play out during the rest of the drama. Many viewers are also looking forward to seeing how much the drama will rise from its beginning ratings.
“Rich Man, Poor Woman” airs every Wednesday-Thursday at 11 p.m. KST. Check out the first episode exclusively on Viki!
