Yoon Shi Yoon Shares How "2 Days & 1 Night" Members Supported Him During "Grand Prince" Filming
Yoon Shi Yoon, who recently wrapped up his drama “Grand Prince,” sat down for an interview to talk about his experience filming simultaneously alongside his variety show “2 Days & 1 Night.”
“My agency worried about [the scheduling] a lot too,” the actor said. “But I really like to work, so they supported me even as they worried.”
He also shared how the other “2 Days & 1 Night” members supported him throughout the drama shoot. “They cheered me on a lot,” he said. “Once I was sleeping during filming and Kim Joon Ho was pranking people, but to me he said, ‘You need to do the drama’ and didn’t do anything to me. The others recognize that I’m an actor and help me out a lot. If I do something extreme on set, the others will tell me not to mess up my image and swear or something so the scene can be edited out [laughs]. On TV, they act annoying, but they’re really great hyungs.”
About Defconn, who was also filming a drama (“A Poem a Day”), Yoon Shi Yoon said, “He is doing well and I don’t need to give him any advice. But those who transition to acting from singing seem to have no confidence even when there are no negative comments. They’re doing well, but they worry a lot. Defconn has definitely dated before, but he does well acting like someone who hasn’t. He is also very good at acting worried. This is a compliment [laughs].”
Previously, Yoon Shi Yoon had starred in “Greatest One-Shot,” which Cha Tae Hyun co-directed. When asked about the difference between Cha Tae Hyun the entertainer and Cha Tae Hyun the director, he said, “He’s the best. He approaches everything as Cha Tae Hyun the person. As a director, he’s the type to like B-movie humor. Rather than what’s in the script, he likes to shoot the actors as an ensemble or make something fresh with deleted scenes and it’s fun.”
He added, “If he were to direct again and ask me to join him, I would. I think that it’s the greatest compliment to be asked to work with someone a second time.”
