JYP Is Only Korean Entertainment Agency To Make Financial Times' List Of 1000 High-Growth Companies
JYP Entertainment was the only Korean entertainment agency on the Financial Times’ 2018 list of high-growth companies!
The agency came in at No. 177 on the newspaper’s annual “FT 1000: High-Growth Companies Asia-Pacific” list, which ranks companies in the Asia-Pacific region based on their revenue growth. The publication considered companies from Japan, South Korea, India, Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, New Zealand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
The 2018 list was determined according to the percentage growth in companies’ revenues from 2013 to 2016. JYP Entertainment saw a 245 percent growth in revenue from 2013 to 2016, with the Financial Times calculating the agency’s compound annual growth rate to be 51.2 percent.
On May 22, JYP Entertainment founder Park Jin Young took to Instagram to express his gratitude to the company’s employees, artists, and fans. The singer posted a photo of JYP Entertainment’s official certificate from the Financial Times and wrote in Korean, “To my JYP colleagues, [JYP Entertainment] artists, and the fans who cheer them on, I’m so proud of you all. And I’m thankful.”
He added, “Although it’s important to be a high-growth company, let’s work hard together to make [JYP Entertainment] a company that is loved and respected!”
JYP Entertainment is currently home to many popular K-pop artists, including Suzy, 2PM, GOT7, DAY6, TWICE, and Stray Kids, as well as a number of actors.
