BTS Shares How They Feel After Achieving No. 1 On Billboard 200
BTS shared their thoughts on achieving their dream of topping the Billboard 200 chart!
On May 28 KST, BTS made history by becoming the first Korean artist to take the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart with their latest album “Love Yourself: Tear.” After the announcement of their achievement, the members each talked about how they felt.
RM said, “There were many things I wanted to say, but when I heard and saw the Billboard 200 No. 1 announcement, it didn’t feel real at all. Today, I will celebrate with the BTS members, and tomorrow I’ll focus again on working on our album and music. I want to give a big thank you to ARMYs all over the world. I love you and we’ll become an even better BTS.”
Jin stated, “Thank you to everyone who listened to our songs. We were able to make music because of ARMY and we could become No. 1 on Billboard 200 with your help. It’s an honor to be No. 1 with a Korean album and I hope more people will become interested in BTS as well as Korean culture.”
Suga commented, “I said that I wanted to be No.1 on the Billboard 200, but it’s really an honor now that it’s come true. First and foremost, I want to thank ARMYs. We will repay you with music that is fitting for this position.”
J-Hope said, “I’m happy that we could become No. 1 on the Billboard 200 main chart, which is something I only dreamed out. It’s amazing that our album is above world famous artists’ albums. I sincerely thank our fans who made it become No. 1. I want to enjoy this happy news with my members who worked hard.”
Jimin stated, “Unbelievable things are happening in a row. I can’t believe that we had a comeback stage at the Billboard Music Awards, and getting No. 1 on Billboard 200 is surprising and amazing. More than anything, I sincerely thank our fans who support and love us. I also want to express my thanks to the members who worked hard to get here.”
V commented, “Thanks to ARMYs, we got our wings and were able to get No. 1 on Billboard 200. I really can’t predict where you’ll fly us to. Thank you and we’ll become BTS who make ARMYs proud.”
Jungkook said, “It’s more meaningful that we got No. 1 on Billboard 200 with a full album. From winning at the Billboard Music Awards to the Billboard charts, good things are happening so there is pressure, but I won’t mind it and will work harder towards a bigger dream.”
While Billboard’s top albums chart (the Billboard 200) was already announced this week, the top songs chart (the Hot 100) will be updated on May 30. Many fans are curious to see how well BTS’s title track “Fake Love” from “Love Yourself: Tear” has done on the Hot 100. Stay tuned for updates!
