BTS Talks About Choreography And High Pitch Of

On June 3, SBS’s 8 O’Clock News aired a special interview with BTS.

During the interview with news anchor Kim Yong Tae, the group talked about the Billboard Music Awards, their recent No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and what they want to convey to people with their music.

About halfway through their interview, Jimin and Jin were asked if it was difficult to sing the high-pitched chorus of “Fake Love” while doing the difficult choreography.

Jimin said, “The choreography is different, a different style from what we’ve done before, so it was difficult even while we were learning it. It’s still difficult for me on stage, so when we’re singing live, if my throat condition isn’t good, then it’s tough.”

Jin added, “It’s very high and we’ve spoken to our main producer about it. He said that when the human voice has to work hard to reach the note, that’s when it sounds the most attractive. So we think the pitch is slowly getting higher over time.”

Kim Yong Tae also mentioned the fact that the group goes on a vacation together every year. Jungkook said, “In a sense, it’s a trip to strengthen our unity. Not like a real vacation, where you play all day. We just do a lot of small things together. We buy groceries, make food, play board games together.”

Finally, the group was asked what careers they would have chosen if they did not become idols. Jimin said that he considered being a police officer in middle school, while V brought up his dream to become a saxophonist. J-Hope said that he liked tennis while he was in school, and when Kim Yong Tae mentioned Chung Hyeon, a professional tennis player who was the first Korean to reach a Grand Slam semifinal earlier this year, said that he enjoyed watching his victory ceremony.

Suga said that he’d always wanted to be a producer, but added jokingly that he would also have liked to be a 8 O’Clock News anchor like Kim Yong Tae and interview BTS.
