Go Young Wook To Have His Ankle Monitor Taken Off In July

Former Roo’ra member Go Young Wook will be getting his ankle monitor removed in July.

The singer previously sexually assaulted three minor girls from July of 2010 to December of 2012 and was arrested for the crime on January of 2013. At the time, he was sentenced to two years and six months in prison, public release of his personal information for five years, and ankle monitoring for three years.

Go Young Wook completed his time in prison and was released in July of 2015 and will be completing his three years of wearing an ankle monitoring this July. He has two years remaining in the public release of his personal information, which will end in July of 2020.

At the time of his release from prison in July of 2015, Go Young Wook stated, “During the two and a half years I was here [in prison], I learned a lot, and I had time to reflect. I caused much trouble as a celebrity, so I’m very sorry.” He added, “I will reflect for the rest of my life. I will live with a new mindset. I am sorry for causing disappointment.”

It is unlikely that Go Young Wook will be returning to the entertainment industry as he is the first celebrity to have been ankle monitored and faces harsh criticism from the public.
