CJ E&M Announces Cancelation Of 2018 Idolcon
On June 8, CJ E&M’s Mnet posted a notice on the official Idolcon Facebook page stating that the event has been canceled.
Idolcon is an idol festival hosted by CJ E&M and KMF (Korea Management Federation) for the constructive development of the idol market, healthy expansion of idol-fan culture, and coexistent development of the K-pop market.
Idolcon was first held in May 2017, when idol groups and around 10,000 fans gathered and took part in various programs and performances.
The statement reads:
“Hello. This is Idolcon.
“Idolcon, which was scheduled to be held July 7 to 8 of 2018 at the Ilsan Kintex Center, has unfortunately been canceled due to internal circumstances.
“We apologize to everyone who gave interest and support to Idolcon, and promise to return with good content. Thank you.”
