SHINee Discusses Their Secret To Staying Together And Where They Hope To Be 10 Years Later
At an event to celebrate the release of the second album of their sixth studio album “The Story of Light” on June 11, the members of SHINee opened up about the secret to staying together for 10 years, as well as where they hope to be in the next 10 years.
The members were asked how they felt about reaching their 10th anniversary and Taemin replied, “I feel proud. We’ve spent 10 years with each other, which is almost as long as half of my life. At first, there were times when we fought because we had our differences, but now, we don’t have to say a word to understand each other. I want to proudly show everyone that closeness we have.”
Minho added, “Though we each have our unique personality, we always try to understand and respect each other. Once we started doing that, we became even closer and got to know each other much better.” He continued to say, “As time passed, we became closer, and when we’re by ourselves, it feels lonely and boring. When we’re together, it’s so much fun and we feel so happy. I think that’s the secret to us staying together for 10 years.”
Key explained that they decided to release three albums to celebrate their 10th anniversary milestone and said, “We want to show people that SHINee is here, and we’re working hard and doing well. We want to show them that we’re just fine, just the way we’ve always been.”
The members all agreed that they want to still be together as SHINee for the next 10 years as well. Sharing that they had renewed their contracts with SM Entertainment, Minho said, “We want to still be performing as SHINee ten years from now, and to do that, we have a lot to study and learn.” Onew added, “One thing that has never changed for me is my desire for SHINee to keep going. I just wish for us and the people watching us to be happy.”
