MBC's "Omniscient" To Resume Filming With New PD And Crew Following Controversy

MBC’s reality show “Omniscient” will be returning to the airwaves later this month.

On June 13, a source from MBC confirmed reports that “Omniscient” would be resuming filming on June 29, with the new episode set to air on June 30. The show will now be helmed by producing director (PD) Ahn Soo Young and a new crew.

The show has been put on hold since early May, when a news clip reporting the Sewol Ferry disaster was used for comedic purposes. An apology was issued by the production staff and MBC president, the show was put on hold, and a brand new PD and crew were brought in to continue the show with the original cast of Lee Young Ja, Song Eun Yi, Jun Hyun Moo, Yang Se Hyung, and Yoo Byung Jae.

“Omniscient” will air its next episode on June 30 at 11:05 p.m. KST.
