Song Joong Ki may be reuniting with the director from “A Werewolf Boy” for his upcoming film.

On June 18, representatives from the film industry shared that Song Joong Ki had recently met with director Jo Sung Hee and verbally agreed to appear in his upcoming project “Lightning Ship” (literal translation). The same day, the actor’s agency Blossom Entertainment addressed the reports and stated, “Nothing has been confirmed as of yet.”

“Lightning Ship’ will be the director’s comeback after his previous movie, “Phantom Detective.” Originally under the name “Space Project,” the director originally had planned on working on the movie after “A Werewolf Boy” but ended up pushing it to film “Phantom Detective” instead. The sci-fi film will use outer space as its setting and will include actors from different countries. It was reported that when the two met up, the director had talked about his film and Song Joong Ki had readily agreed to appear.

Song Joong Ki and director Jo Sung Hee previously worked together in 2012 with the hit film “A Werewolf Boy,” which achieved 6.65 million moviegoers. “A Werewolf Boy” was also notably the film that brought Song Joong Ki into the limelight prior to his enlistment. Since then, the actor shot to fame with his hit drama “Descendants of the Sun” and has since filmed the movie “Battleship Island.” Since getting married to Song Hye Kyo, the actor has not yet participated in a project.

“Lightning Ship” is slated to air in the latter half of next year.
