Han Hyo Joo Talks About Her Character And Working With SHINee’s Minho In Upcoming Film
“In Rang” (also known as “Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade”) is a remake of a well-known Japanese animation film of the same name. It is set in the year 2029, when North and South Korea are on the verge of reunification after having prepared a five-year process. However, this is disrupted when a terrorist organization opposing reunification appears and a special police unit as well as a government task force rises to counter them. Amidst all this chaos, a human weapon known as “man-wolves” emerges.
Han Hyo Joo commented, “I’ve always wanted to work with director Kim Ji Woon, and so I was very happy when the opportunity came. When I received the script, I thought about whether I would be able to portray my character well as it’s one that’s hard to express. I ended up accepting the offer after deciding to believe in the director.”
In the film, the actress plays Lee Yoon Hee, the sister of girl who dies in a suicide bombing in front of Im Joong Kyung (played by Kang Dong Won). On her character, she explained, “I did a lot of research but I felt like it wasn’t enough, so I was afraid to go to the shoot. However, after I received direction from the director, and as I took in the filming site, I think I got closer and more comfortable with my character.”
Han Hyo Joo shared, “I’m very fortunate to be able to work with great actors that I’ve worked with once before. It was really fun filming on set because I was able to work with such great people.”
When MC Park Kyung Lim asked, “What was Minho like on set?” the actress replied, “I met Minho for the first time through this film. He has really clear eyes.” She continued, “When we were filming action scenes on set, a masculine energy came from those doe-like eyes. He’s an actor that has many different sides to him. I gained a lot of positive energy from his passionate personality as well.”
“In Rang” will premiere on July 25. Check out the action-packed trailer here!
