ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo Transforms Into Aloof College Student For Upcoming JTBC Drama
The upcoming JTBC drama “My ID is Gangnam Beauty” (literal title) has unveiled its first glimpse of ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo in his starring role!
Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, “My ID is Gangnam Beauty” will tell the story of Kang Mi Rae (played by Im Soo Hyang), a young woman who decides to change her life through plastic surgery after being teased about her looks from an early age. However, she finds that her life post-surgery is drastically different from what she had imagined.
Cha Eun Woo will be starring in the drama as Do Kyung Suk, a handsome college student who receives attention for his looks wherever he goes. Although he appears to have it all—looks, intelligence, and wealth—Do Kyung Suk harbors emotional scars from his unhappy family. Known for his brutal honesty and his cold, distant manner, Do Kyung Suk begins to show a different side of his personality once he meets Kang Mi Rae.
The newly released first stills of Cha Eun Woo in character show the actor wearing a frosty expression and a casual black hoodie. The producers of “My ID is Gangnam Beauty” remarked, “On the first day of filming, Cha Eun Woo appeared on campus looking so much like the webtoon character Do Kyung Suk that many staff members gave a thumbs-up.”
They added, “Although Do Kyung Suk wears a cold, icy mask and has a curt personality, he has a fairly cute side once you get to know him. Viewers will be able to see Cha Eun Woo’s many different charms through ‘My ID is Gangnam Beauty.'”
“My ID is Gangnam Beauty” is scheduled to premiere in July following the end of “Sketch.”
