Writer Kim Eun Sook Denies Divorce Rumors

Kim Eun Sook publicly addressed the rumors saying she was going through a divorce.

On June 26, a news outlet had reported “Kim Eun Sook is getting a divorce after 12 years of marriage” and that “she is focusing on the manuscript of ‘Mr. Sunshine’ to get through this tough time.”

Kim Eun Sook shared through social media, “I woke up to a nightmare. There was an article written about my divorce as if it were true. I became a divorcée overnight. How can this happen? First and foremost, I apologize that my first tweet in a while has to do with this. Someone wise once said social media was a waste of life, so I was trying to stay away from it.”

She continued, “I did not get a divorce. The three of us are doing fine. I am taken aback and upset especially since my daughter happens to be in the country for break. I can’t believe that articles like this can be released without any sort of verification — and on the day of an important press conference.”

She added, “I would like to say something preemptively before my absence at the press conference gets misconstrued. As you can see outside, monsoon season is upon us and we have the firearm license until the end of July. The manuscript of the last episode has to be finished by next week. The news that I won’t be at the press conference because I’m writing the last two episodes is true.”

Her last post stated, “I really hope this doesn’t affect the press conference for my next project ‘Mr. Sunshine.’ Also, ‘Mr. Sunshine’ will air on July 7 at 9 p.m. on tvN^^ Hope you will watch it.”
