iKON And MOMOLAND Named Top Idol Groups Of First Half Of 2018 By Genie
According to Genie, iKON and MOMOLAND are the two top idol groups of the first half of 2018.
iKON, who released “Love Scenario” in January, was the top male group, owning the No. 1 spot of Genie’s daily chart for 35 days. MOMOLAND grabbed the No. 3 spot on Genie’s chart for 2018’s first half with “Bboom Bboom,” making them the top girl group so far.
There are a total of 14 idol groups — 7 female, 7 male — and 24 idol songs that made it into Genie’s top 100 songs of the first half of 2018.
The male group with the most songs in the top 100 is BTS, with “DNA,” “Spring Day,” and “Fake Love.” Following close behind with two songs in the top 100 is WINNER, with “Everyday” and “Really Really,” and Wanna One, with “Beautiful” and “Energetic.”
Other highly popular male group songs include BIGBANG’s “Flower Road,” BTOB’s “Missing You,” and EXO’s “Universe.”
TWICE and Red Velvet had the most girl group songs in the top 100 with three each: TWICE with “Heart Shaker,” “What is Love?” and “Likey”; and Red Velvet with “Bad Boy,” “Peekaboo,” and “Red Flavor.”
Other highly popular girl group songs include GFRIEND’s “Time for the Moon Night,” BLACKPINK’s “As If It’s Your Last,” Oh My Girl’s “Secret Garden,” and EXID’s “DDD.”
