UNB Shares Thoughts On The Cancellation Of

UNB talked about the cancellation of the debut of the final group from JTBC’s “MIXNINE.”

On June 28, UNB held a showcase for their second mini album “Black Heart” at the Blue Square iMarket Hall in Seoul. UNB is a project boy group made up of the top nine contestants of KBS 2TV’s “The Unit.”

UNB’s Chan said, “We were able to debut through ‘The Unit.’ A debut group was also formed on our rival program that aired on another network, ‘MIXNINE,’ and I saw that it was canceled.”

He continued, “We were going through the same experience, so I thought it’d be fun if we went head-to-head with our skills on a show or on stage. Both programs had the same goal, so it was a situation where we could’ve decided who was better. My heart hurt when we couldn’t do that anymore.”

He added, “Just like how we suffered, the ‘MIXNINE’ team also must’ve suffered a lot. I was really sad when I heard about the cancellation of their debut. Since their debut was canceled, I think it gave them the chance to work hard after returning to their own teams.”

Chan concluded, “We debuted through this program, so we should work harder. Since their debut fell through, they can return to their groups and work harder. I wonder if those aren’t the different mindsets we’ve now formed.”

UNB released the MV for their title track “Black Heart” on June 28.
