MAMAMOO Expresses Thanks After Pre-Release Song "Rainy Season" Tops Realtime Charts

MAMAMOO’s surprise pre-release song has been doing great on the charts, and the members have thanked everyone for showing their love for the track!

On July 1 at 6 p.m. KST, MAMAMOO released “Rainy Season” ahead of their upcoming summer comeback. Only five hours after its release, it had reached No. 1 on the realtime chart of Korea’s biggest music site Melon, becoming the first girl group to have a pre-release song top the chart. As of 11 a.m. KST on July 2, it was No. 1 on the realtime charts of Genie, Bugs, Mnet, Olleh, and Monkey3, and No. 2 on Melon.

MAMAMOO told OSEN on July 2, “It feels like a green light has gone on for our new album ‘Red Moon.’ We released our new song ‘Rainy Season’ by surprise on a rainy Sunday, and we’re so thankful that you’ve shown it more love than we expected.”

They added, “We wanted to give our fans a surprise gift without any notice on a rainy day, but it seems like we’re the ones receiving a big gift instead. With our pre-release song ‘Rainy Season’ receiving a lot of love, we think we’ll be able to have more fun and be happier while preparing for our new mini album ‘Red Moon,’ which is coming out soon.”

MAMAMOO asked everyone to look forward to their new release, and thanked everyone who’s been listening to “Rainy Season,” including their fans MOOMOO. “Also, you know that there wouldn’t be MAMAMOO without MOOMOO, right?” they said. “Thank you so much and we love you.”
