Red Velvet Makes Successful Japanese Debut, Hits No. 2 On Oricon Chart

Red Velvet is off to a strong start in Japan!

The girl group made their official Japanese debut on July 4 with the mini album “#Cookie Jar.” In addition to three new songs, including the title track “#Cookie Jar,” the mini album includes Japanese versions of Red Velvet’s Korean hits “Dumb Dumb,” “Russian Roulette,” and “Red Flavor.”

On July 5, Oricon announced that Red Velvet’s first Japanese release had reached No. 2 on its daily album chart. According to the chart data, the group had managed to sell 15,099 copies of the mini album in just one day.

Red Velvet is currently preparing for their second solo concert “REDMARE,” which will be held next month on August 4 and 5 at SK Olympic Handball Gymnasium in Seoul.
