“What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim” Dominates Over Wednesday-Thursday Dramas With New Personal Best In Ratings
“What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim” continues to take over the hearts of viewers.
According to Nielsen Korea, the July 11 episode of “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim,” achieved an average nationwide viewership rating of 8.7 percent, its best yet, and a peak viewership rating of 9.8 percent. The drama took first place in its time slot across all public broadcasting stations and cable networks. Among tvN’s target audience, viewers in their 20s to 40s, the episode achieved an average of 6.4 percent and a peak of 7.6 percent, also the highest in its time slot across public broadcasting stations and cable networks.
MBC’s “Come and Hug Me” achieved 3.7 percent and 4.7 percent viewership ratings, which was the highest among public broadcasting stations. KBS’s “Your House Helper” achieved 3.6 percent and 4.3 percent, while SBS’s “The Undateables” achieved 2.8 percent and 2.9 percent.
“What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim” airs every Wednesday and Thursday at 9:30 p.m. KST, while “Come and Hug Me,” “Your House Helper,” and “The Undateables” airs every Wednesday and Thursday at 10 p.m. KST.
During the episode, details on Lee Young Joon (played by Park Seo Joon) and Kim Mi So’s (played by Park Min Young) kidnapping as well as why their kidnapper chose death were revealed. Young Lee Young Joon had also protected Kim Mi So by preventing her from seeing the dead woman, but as he was a child, he became traumatized.
In the present, he expressed how happy he had been that she hadn’t been traumatized from the incident as she had no memory of it. While waiting for Kim Mi So to wake up, he confessed, “I realized then, I couldn’t ever let you go. From the very beginning, it had to be you.” When she woke, she told him, “Shall we bury the bad memories deep underground?” and touchingly said, “From now on, we’re going to be happy since we’re going to be together.”
