Watch: A Young Girl Struggles With Society's Standards For Beauty In "My ID Is Gangnam Beauty" Teaser

In contrast to the cheerful group poster, the upcoming drama “My ID Is Gangnam Beauty” has released a dark teaser trailer.

Based on a webtoon of the same name, the JTBC drama is about a woman (Im Soo Hyang) who decides to change her life through plastic surgery and live the ideal college lifestyle. However, she soon finds that college is not all that she expected and that she has to search for the true meaning of beauty.

The latest teaser from the drama focuses on the misery of Kang Mi Rae’s childhood, hiding in a bathroom from the other kids and getting cruelly taunted when she gets enough courage to confess to a boy. The teaser also implies that the character attempted to take her own life before resolving on the path to plastic surgery.

The teaser ends with Im Soo Hyang in her new face, dancing in a college club with ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo looking on.
