Ku Hye Sun Laughs Off Recent Rumors Around Her Weight Gain And Pokes Fun At Herself

Ku Hye Sun personally addressed the rumors surrounding her recent red carpet appearance and had fun as she poked fun at herself.

On July 14, the actress and director held a Naver V Live broadcast at the 22nd Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) titled, “Films and Me, Talking about Director Ku Hye Sun.”

During the talk, Ku Hye Sun said, “I saw that a lot of articles were written yesterday because I gained weight. I even topped real-time search rankings.” She went on to joke, “I thought about introducing myself as ‘Chubby Ku Hye Sun’ or ‘Ku Hye Sun who gained weight’ today.”

Ku Hye Sun was referring to the rumors that had surfaced after she had made an appearance at the opening of 2018 BIFAN. People began speculating that she was pregnant or was recovering from plastic surgery as they claimed her face was looking rounder than usual. The actress took to her personal Instagram account to state that she had gained weight, with her agency also adding that the weight gain had been for health reasons and that all of the rumors were baseless.

When the MC noted how she had mentioned the rumors without being prompted, Ku Hye Sun laughed and said, “I like poking fun at myself. I just hope everyone has a fun time here.”

Ku Hye Sun was invited to 2018 BIFAN as the director of the film “Mystery Pink.”
